This set of the Chinese Checkers comes on a solid wooden board with 60 coloured wooden pegs, six sets - ten of each colour.

Two different variations can be played on the game set, "hop across" and "capture". The game is complex but is also easy to play and learn and recommended as a suitable first game for very young children. Chinese Checkers is one of those games where it is very easy to play at first, and if you are learning with someone it can be a lot of fun.

Using wooden pegs instead of the traditional marbles makes it an ideal game for the road.

Each person starts with a set of uniquely coloured pieces in the point of one of the stars. The objective is simply to be the first to move all the pieces from your home point, across the board to your goal point, the star point opposite. Pieces can move to any adjacent spaces, or jump over any adjacent pieces. You can make multiple piece jumps per move, and can jump any pieces on the board. Pieces may not travel through other players' points.. The middle part of the game becomes quite a challenge as the options for hopping vary rapidly as the game changes shape. The player who can best create and take advantage of hopping opportunities will tend to win.

This wooden game will help develop dexterity, hand/eye coordination, colour, shape, size identification, problem-solving and reasoning skills, plus many others. .
